Aside from the options already mentioned, the most reliable built-in tool to check is Disk Management. You can access this by right clicking the Start menu and selecting Disk Management. Look at the bottom half of the window for any drive labeled as Removable. This specific tool is critical because it will display your USB flash drive even if it is unformatted, corrupted, or missing a drive letter scenarios where File Explorer, Settings, and Device Manager might fail to show it as an accessible storage device.
