Unable to activate Azure for Students through GitHub Student Developer Pack

Hello,

I am a verified GitHub Student Developer Pack member and I am trying to activate Azure for Students using the GitHub verification method.

I followed the official instructions to sign in to Azure using my GitHub account. I can successfully access the Azure portal, but no Azure subscription is created and I continue to see student verification prompts. In the Azure portal, the Subscriptions section shows "No subscriptions found."

I have already verified my student status through GitHub Education and expected the Azure for Students benefit to be activated through my GitHub Student Developer Pack.

I have been unable to find a dedicated Microsoft support channel or email address specifically for Azure for Students activation through GitHub Student Developer Pack.The Microsoft support URL (https://aka.ms/azsuportedu) referenced in one of the community responses redirects to Bing instead of a support page, so I have been unable to reach the recommended education support channel.

Signing in to the Azure portal with your GitHub account does not automatically create an Azure for Students subscription. These are two separate steps. You need to go through the specific activation flow below to generate a verification code from GitHub and use it to create the subscription.

Steps to activate correctly:

1. Go to your GitHub Education benefits page: https://education.github.com/pack/offers
2. Locate Microsoft Azure in the list of offers and click on it to generate your unique verification code.
3. Now go to the Azure for Students activation page: https://signup.azure.com/studentverification?offerType=1
4. Click Sign in with GitHub (important: use the GitHub button, NOT "Sign in with Microsoft").
5. Sign in using your GitHub user ID, not your email address.
6. When prompted, paste the verification code from Step 2.
7. Complete the sign-up form. Once done, wait a few minutes and refresh the Azure portal. Your Azure for Students subscription with $100 credit will appear under Subscriptions.

A couple of things to verify before starting:

• In your GitHub account Settings > Emails, confirm that your primary email is verified.
• Make sure the Microsoft account you use during sign-up has no existing Azure subscription attached. Azure for Students is limited to one subscription per eligible customer.
• If you have previously had any Azure subscription on this Microsoft account, you won't be eligible for the $100 credit, but you can still access Azure for Students Starter (free tier, no credit limit).
