Everytime I go to login to my Xbox app and/or Minecraft on my PC (Windows 10), I get the below error.

Error Code: 0x89235107 code: Forest. Something went wrong in the login process. Please ensure all dependencies are up-to-date.

As far as I can tell, they are. Every account is logged in with the same credentials

Please help.

    Hello Josh Demmin,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Before we proceed, may I know if you have checked the AI assistant response yet? If you did, may I know how it goes?

Before we proceed further, may I know if this happens in your other Microsoft apps as well?

    I'm waiting for your reply.

Follow these steps in order, testing sign-in after each major step:

    1. Update Gaming Services
      1. Open Start, search for PowerShell, right-click Windows PowerShell, and select Run as administrator.
      2. Run:
              get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

      3. In the same PowerShell window, run:
              start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

      4. In Microsoft Store, install Gaming Services, accepting any UAC prompts.
      5. After installation completes, try signing in to the Xbox app and Minecraft again.
    2. Update the Xbox App
      1. Make sure the PC is in the RETAIL sandbox (for consumer Windows this is the default; if a dev sandbox was ever used, switch back to RETAIL first).
      2. In an elevated PowerShell window, run:
              get-appxpackage Microsoft.XboxApp | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

      3. Then run:
              start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9mv0b5hzvk9z

      4. Install the Xbox App from the Store.
      5. Launch the Xbox App and sign in with the same Microsoft account used in Microsoft Store and Minecraft.
    3. Ensure Microsoft Store and Xbox App use the same account
      1. Close Microsoft Store and the Xbox app.
      2. Press Win+R, type wsreset.exe, then press Ctrl+Shift+Enter to run as administrator.
      3. After the Store opens, sign in with the account intended for Xbox/Minecraft.
      4. Open the Xbox app, reset it if needed (Settings → Apps → Installed apps → Xbox → Advanced options → Reset), then sign in with the same account.
    4. Verify Xbox gaming components are healthy
      1. Run the Game Repair Tool to check and repair Gaming Services and related components.
      2. Follow any repair steps it suggests, then retry sign-in.
    5. Restart the PC
      1. Before restarting, if the issue persists, submit feedback so it can be investigated:
              XblPCSandbox /feedback

      2. Restart Windows and try signing in again.

If sign-in still fails after these steps, use the Microsoft account Sign-in Helper tool to rule out any underlying Microsoft account sign-in issues, then retry the Xbox app and Minecraft.
