Does the sharepoint migration tool delete data in the destination that no longer exists in the source?

Hi,

I'm planning out how to migrate our NAS home folder OneDrive and I've run a couple of tests using the SharePoint migration tool. I want to run incremental copies so the bulk of the data is copied ahead of the cut over date, however the tool doesn't delete data from the destination (OneDrive) that no longer exists in the source (home folder) and anything renamed in the source is copied as a new file or folder which results in duplicate data being copied to the destination.

Am I missing a setting or something?

    @Darryl ,

    This is by design that SharePoint Migration Tool does not delete data in the destination that no longer exists in the source.

    The SharePoint Migration Tool only copies your files from SharePoint on-premises document libraries or regular file shares to SharePoint in Microsoft 365.

    If you enable incremental migration, files are evaluated as follows:
