Greetings, I am having problems with a different account (discord) and im trying to get help from there support team. In order for me to open a ticket i need to create a discord support account using the same email associated with that account which so happens to be my outlook account. When I go to create the account im asked for my name and email, after i put in the correct information im prompted with a new page that says a link will be sent to my email to create a new password to activate my support account. In short im not able to receive these links no matter what i try, i added all discords reply emails to my allow list and i double/tripple/quadruple checked all my spam junk and inbox folders for this link and its still not there. Can anybody help me fix this issue? why am i not receiving the email even after adding them to the allow list.

    Hi Rezz

I understand how frustrating this is, especially when you need the verification email to proceed with Discord support.

Have you already tried the Q&A Assist suggestions? In addition, please try the following:

1, Search your mailbox (not just folders)

Sometimes messages are hidden by filters like Focused Inbox or Sweep.

    • In Outlook.com, use the search bar
    • Search: “from:discord”
    • Then check if anything appears in unexpected folders

2, Disable Focused Inbox (quick test)

Focused Inbox can hide automated emails.

    • Go to “Settings” > “Mail” > “Layout”
    • Uncheck “Sort messages into Focused and Other"
    • Refresh and check again

3, Create a rule to force Discord emails to Inbox

    This bypasses most filtering:

    • Go to “Settings” > “Mail” > “Rules” > “Add new rule”
    • Condition: From contains “discord”
    • Action: Move to “Inbox”
    • Save changes

This helps ensure messages won’t be silently redirected.

Please feel free to let me know how it goes after trying these steps. I truly appreciate your time and understanding.

The most likely causes are that Outlook.com is filtering or redirecting the messages, or that the sender’s system is not successfully delivering them to Outlook.com.

Work through these checks in Outlook.com (web):

    1. Check all folders and sort by date
      • In Outlook.com, look in Inbox, Junk Email, Archive, Deleted Items, and any custom folders.
      • In each folder, select Filter > Sort > Date to ensure messages are not just appearing out of order.
    2. Verify Junk/allow settings and blocked senders
      • Open your Outlook.com settings and go to Junk Email settings.
      • Confirm Discord’s addresses and domains are not listed under Blocked senders or Blocked domains. If they are, remove them.
      • Make sure any Discord addresses or domains you added are under the allowed/safe list, not blocked.
      • For more detail on blocked senders, see the guidance under Check your blocked senders list for Outlook.com/Outlook on the web.
    3. Check rules and forwarding
      • In Outlook.com, review Rules and ensure there is no rule that:
        • Moves new mail to another folder (including RSS, Archive, or a custom folder),
        • Deletes messages, or
        • Marks them as read and moves them away silently.
      • Also check if email forwarding is enabled and, if so, whether mail is being forwarded to another address. Disable forwarding temporarily and test again.
      • Hidden or unexpected rules are a common cause of “can’t receive from one sender” issues.
    4. Confirm no POP/IMAP conflict
      • If the Outlook.com account is connected to other apps (mobile or desktop clients, or third‑party mail apps), and POP/IMAP is enabled, those apps can move or delete messages before they are seen in webmail.
      • If using a third‑party mail service or app, ensure it supports modern authentication and IMAP. If POP/IMAP are active and causing issues, disable them and test again. See POP, IMAP, and SMTP settings for Outlook.com for details.
    5. Ask the sender to check their side
      • If a specific sender’s messages are missing and there is no error visible in Outlook.com, the sender should review their sending status and any bounce messages.
      • They can follow the guidance in Sender Support in Outlook.com to ensure their messages are not being blocked or rejected by Outlook.com.
    6. Use Outlook.com’s interactive troubleshooter and support
      • Run the Outlook.com “Can’t receive mail” interactive troubleshooter: select Start under the Can’t receive mail in Outlook.com section and follow the prompts.
      • If the issue persists, in Outlook.com select Help (the question mark icon), describe the problem, and if self‑help does not resolve it, scroll to Still need help? and choose Yes to contact support while signed in.

If none of the above reveals the messages, it is likely that Discord’s system is not successfully delivering to Outlook.com (for example, being blocked or rejected upstream). In that case, only Discord’s support/sending infrastructure can correct the delivery so that Outlook.com receives the mail.
