Need to download my subscription to my new MacBook Pro

I no longer use a Windows computer. I now use a MacBook Pro. How do I download Word on my new MacBook Pro?

You can download the version you need from the update history at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/update-history-office-for-mac . It is the same download package for perpetual licenses (Office) and subscriptions (Microsoft 365). You usually want the latest version, unless you have an older license, or an old version of macOS which doesn't let you run the most recent version. Use the Microsoft 365 subscription on the MacBook Pro by installing the Mac version of the apps (including Word).

Follow these steps:

1. In a browser on the MacBook Pro, go to https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps.
2. Sign in with the same Microsoft account (or work/school account) that the Microsoft 365 subscription is associated with.
3. On the Microsoft 365 Apps page, select Install apps (or Install Microsoft 365 apps). This downloads the Office installer for Mac.
4. Open the downloaded installer file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
5. After installation, open Microsoft Word from Launchpad or Applications.
6. When Word starts, select Get Started and sign in with the same account to activate it.

Once activated, Word is ready to use on the MacBook Pro.
