Hello Microsoft Team and Community,

We are experiencing a critical, business-blocking issue since 3 weeks already and urgently need assistance from a Microsoft engineer to investigate.

Our team is completely unable to log in, and we are losing significant progress, operational capacity, and valuable time. Its been already 3 weeks since we lost access and we did not receive appropriate support.

When attempting to sign in, we are met with the following error screen :

Error Code: AADSTS5000224

Message: The tenant you are trying to access has been deauthenticated and is no longer available.

This is affecting our entire team's access to critical infrastructure. Because we cannot access the tenant, our administrators cannot log into the admin center to open a standard support ticket from the inside.

Could a Microsoft representative please escalate this immediately or point us toward the correct route to restore our tenant status?

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

    Hello Katerina Panovska,

Our engineering team has completed the re-authentication of your tenant, and the issue causing the sign-in failure has been resolved. You should now be able to access your tenant and resources without any issues.

Could you please try signing in again and confirm if everything is working as expected? If you still encounter any issues, feel free to share the error details so we can assist you further.

Error AADSTS5000224 indicates that the tenant has been deauthenticated and is no longer available. When a tenant is made inaccessible or blocked, self-service recovery from the portal is not possible; only Microsoft support can review and decide on reactivation or confirm deletion timelines.

Based on the provided context, the only supported path is to work directly with Microsoft support and the Data Protection/Entra support teams:

    1. Contact Microsoft support by phone as tenant admin
      • Use the global support phone numbers listed at global support phone numbers.
      • Clearly state:
        • The error code shown (AADSTS5000224) and message that the tenant is deauthenticated/no longer available.
        • That no one in the organization can sign in and that you cannot open a ticket from the tenant admin center.
        • That this is a tenant lockout / inaccessible-tenant scenario and you need the case escalated to the Microsoft 365 or Entra Data Protection team.
      • Once a case is opened, do not submit duplicate requests; wait for the decision on that case, as recommended for inaccessible tenants.
    2. If you have a partner (CSP/GDAP) managing the tenant
      • If a Microsoft partner created or manages the tenant, contact the partner and ask them to open a support case on your behalf using their partner channels.
      • Partners with GDAP and appropriate roles can sometimes help with access issues directly; otherwise they escalate to Microsoft support.
    3. If you cannot reach support from the affected tenant at all
The context shows a supported workaround for similar lockout/MFA issues when admins cannot access their original tenant:
      • Create a new trial tenant (for example, via a Microsoft 365 or Azure trial) and become the global admin of that new tenant.
      • From the new tenant’s admin portal, open a support ticket. In the ticket:
        • Explain that the issue concerns a different existing tenant that shows AADSTS5000224 and is deauthenticated.
        • Provide the affected tenant’s domain name and any error details.
      • This new tenant is only a vehicle to reach support; it does not restore data or access by itself.
    4. If the tenant was blocked due to inactivity
      • For tenants blocked due to inactivity (error AADSTS5000225 in the related documentation), administrators have a limited window (20 days) to request reactivation by contacting Microsoft support.
      • If the tenant remains inaccessible beyond the allowed period, it is deleted and not recoverable. In that case, support can only confirm status; they cannot restore a deleted tenant.

Given that the tenant is deauthenticated and no portal access is available, there is no self-service or community-side action that can restore it. Resolution requires a Microsoft support case, identity/ownership verification, and a decision by the appropriate Data Protection/Entra team.
