Sending, receiving, and organizing email in Outlook on the web for business
Hi Richard,
Good day. Thank you for reaching out, and I appreciate you sharing the details of your concern.
Just a quick note before we continue: this is a user-to-user community forum, so I don’t have access to your Microsoft 365 tenant, your account, or your device to make changes directly. However, I’m here to support you the best I can within these constraints, by providing clear next steps, sharing applicable resources, and directing you to the appropriate support channels.
Here are some steps you can try to recover your emails:
First, please go to https://outlook.office.com and sign in using your church business email account.
1/ Check the Deleted Items folder
- On the left side of Outlook, select Deleted Items.
-
- Look for the missing emails.
- If you find them, select the emails, then choose Move and move them back to Inbox or the folder you prefer.
-
2/ Recover emails deleted from the Deleted Items folder
- Open the Deleted Items folder.
- Look for the option Recover items deleted from this folder.
-
- Select the emails you want to recover.
- Click Restore.
3/ Check other folders
If the emails are not in Deleted Items, please also check:
- Archive
- Junk Email
-
- Other tab, if Focused Inbox is turned on
- Any custom folders
- Search results by using keywords, sender name, or date range
4/ Check if any rules or filters moved the emails
- In Outlook on the web, go to Settings.
- Select Mail > Rules to see if any rule may have moved or deleted messages automatically.
-
- Also check if any filters are applied in your mailbox view.
If you are still unable to locate or recover the emails using the steps above, the messages may require assistance from your Microsoft 365 administrator for the church business account. The admin may be able to check additional retention or recovery options from the organization side, depending on your mailbox settings and retention period.
- In that case, please contact your Microsoft 365 administrator or the person who manages your church business email account for further assistance.
- In case you do not know who is your IT admin, kindly refer to this article: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support
Additionally, if needed, your IT team can also raise a support ticket with Microsoft Support through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center for deeper investigation. They have access to backend configurations and can perform a more in-depth investigation. At the very least, they can provide the most effective workaround to ensure your experience remains smooth and secure.
I hope this information is helpful. Should you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to share them in the comment below. I'm very happy to help.
