    Hi @Dianne Joaquin

Regarding your issue, since your domain diannejoaquin.com is still tied to a Microsoft tenant that you no longer have access to, the only supported path is to contact the Data Protection Team from Microsoft Support and request a domain release after ownership verification as moderators and community forums cannot release domains. This requires backend action by Microsoft Support.

    The Data Protection Team will:

    • Verify that you own the domain (typically via a DNS TXT record)
    • Escalate the request to the Data Protection / Compliance team
    • Remove the domain from the previous tenant
    • Notify you once the domain is released so it can be added to your tenant

Given that access to the server is no longer available on your end, please consider contacting Microsoft Support by phone so they can verify your ownership and assist you. Please find the appropriate contact number here: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support

When you're reaching out to them, having your order confirmation, purchase email, and any error messages handy will help them assist you faster. Please be ready to share:

    • The company name used during subscription
    • Billing email address (even if it’s a personal Microsoft account)
    • Payment method details (last 4 digits of the card, billing address)
    • Any subscription ID or invoice numbers from billing email

When you call the support number, you may hear an introduction of about 30 seconds such as "you can visit the link...". You can ignore this introduction and wait until you are presented with the options. Then press "1" as a business email user, and again "1" for technical help.

Please note that as forum moderator, I don't have access to user account settings and aren't able to help with signing in, resetting passwords, or changing access rights. I also don't have access to the internal systems or administrative tools needed to resolve account-specific or backend issues.

I hope this helps you reach the support team quickly and I truly hope the information provided has been useful. Please feel free to reach out anytime if you need further assistance.

The tenant that currently owns the domain can’t be removed directly without access; Microsoft must verify ownership and process it. The supported paths are:

    1. If the tenant is owned by the same organization and is just unmanaged:
      • Review domains at the registrar for any that aren’t verified in the current tenant.
      • If the registrar shows that the domain is in use but not in the home tenant, it might be attached to an unmanaged directory created via self‑service sign‑up.
      • A global administrator can then perform an admin takeover of that unmanaged directory to regain control. See Admin takeover of an unmanaged directory.
    2. If access to the tenant is completely lost (no admin access, no sign‑in possible):
      • A support ticket must be opened so the Microsoft Data Protection Team can help reset an administrator account or help claim ownership of the tenant. They handle cases where an organization owns the tenant/domain but can’t sign in.
      • Use the global customer service phone numbers listed in the support article to reach Microsoft and request assistance with tenant access and domain release.
    3. If the domain is already in use in another Microsoft 365 tenant that is not under control:
      • Domains are first‑come, first‑served. If another organization legitimately owns that tenant, Microsoft won’t disclose information about it or forcibly free the domain; a different domain name must be chosen.

For GoDaddy‑based Microsoft 365 setups (if the domain is or was managed via GoDaddy’s Microsoft 365 offering):

    • GoDaddy is the contact for releasing a domain from a GoDaddy‑managed tenant.
    • If the default ******@onmicrosoft.com admin account is involved and access is lost, Microsoft 365 support can help reset that admin.

If none of these paths apply or the process fails, contact Microsoft 365 support or GoDaddy support (if they manage the DNS or Microsoft 365 subscription) and provide proof of domain ownership so they can escalate to the appropriate team.
