Hello Satya, this is expected behavior—when you sign up for a Pay-As-You-Go or Free Trial in the Azure portal, the flow uses a personal Microsoft Account (MSA), so signing up with a work/school address that’s already in Azure AD isn’t allowed. You have two simple options:

    1. Sign up with a personal MSA and then add your org account • Go through the portal sign-up using a personal email (Outlook/Gmail/etc.). • After the subscription’s created, open Azure Portal → Subscriptions → select your new subscription → Access control (IAM) → Add role assignment → give your work email the Owner or Contributor role. • You can also switch the subscription into your org’s Azure AD directory (if needed) under Subscriptions → Change directory.
    2. Sign up under your organization’s billing agreement • If your company has a Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA), Enterprise Agreement (EA), or uses a Cloud Solution Provider (CSP), you can create a Pay-As-You-Go subscription directly with your work email via the commerce portal instead of the consumer sign-up flow. • Admins can set up a billing account in the MCA portal which lets you onboard subscriptions with your work Azure AD identity.

Hope that helps you keep everything under your organization’s accounts!
