How do I create an Microsoft account for Minecraft?

Hi,

There's no need to create a new one. Just use the same account you used to buy Minecraft from the Microsoft Store. It might be the same account you're using on this website as well.

To use Minecraft on Windows 11, a Microsoft account is required. Create one as follows:

1. Go to the Microsoft account sign-up page: select Create an account or go to https://signup.live.com.
2. Enter an email address to use as the Microsoft account.
   • If a new email address is needed, go to Outlook.com and select Create free account to get a free Outlook.com address.
3. Create a strong password (if prompted) and select Next.
4. Enter first and last name, then select Next.
5. Choose country/region and birthdate, then select Next.
6. Enter the captcha code shown and select Next.
7. Verify the email address by entering the code sent to that email, then select Next.

After the Microsoft account is created, use it to sign in to Minecraft on the Windows 11 device.

Note: An email address that has previously been used for a Microsoft account cannot be reused for a new account, even if the old account was closed.
