    Hi nancy wei

Please understand that we're not Microsoft support, this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators have no backend access and cannot directly intervene in Microsoft products. We provide only technical guidance and best-practice recommendations based on reported issues

Based on your description, the available recovery options depend on how the Authenticator app was being used.

If the account is a work or school account (such as an account provided by your employer or an organization you collaborate with), the authentication settings are managed by that organization's IT administrator. Microsoft does not have direct access to reset MFA registrations for organization-managed accounts. In this situation, you may need to contact the administrator responsible for the account and request that your MFA methods be reset or re-registered. You can refer to: Manage authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication - Microsoft Entra ID | Microsoft Learn

If the account is a personal Microsoft account and you still have another verification method available (such as a recovery email address, phone number, or recovery code), you may be able to regain access and then configure Microsoft Authenticator again on your new device.

Since you mentioned that the verification is required to access your customer's system (Inter IKEA Group), this is most likely managed by their organization's identity system (logging in as a guest account). The MFA registrations were tied to your old phone, these entries do not transfer automatically, which is why you’re not receiving codes or push notifications.

If you are still able to access the account through another authentication method, you can try:

-Sign in to the My Sign‑Ins portal for each account.

-Add your new phone as an authentication method.

-If notifications still don’t arrive even though your device appears in the list, remove and re‑add the device to refresh the registration.

-Once confirmed, you can safely remove the old phone from your security info.

If you cannot access guest accounts directly, I would recommend contacting the Inter IKEA Group IT support team or the administrator responsible for your account and requesting an MFA reset or re-registration of your Authenticator app.

I hope this information helps. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reply in the comments.
