Sending multimedia content and documents within chat conversations in Microsoft Teams
Dear @jo_work_tz,
I completely understand how confusing it can be when the preview order of your images does not match the order in which they were selected especially when sharing step‑by‑step screenshots.
After reviewing the behavior, this is currently expected with Microsoft Teams. When multiple images are attached in a single message, Teams processes and uploads the files in parallel, and the preview order is determined by how the files are handled internally rather than the order in which they were selected. At this time, there is no built‑in option to manually control or preserve the ordering of images in the preview.
As a workaround, you may consider the following approaches depending on your scenario:
- Send the images one by one to maintain the desired sequence
- Rename the files with a numeric prefix (e.g., 01, 02, 03) to improve clarity
- Combine the images into a single document (such as a PDF) before uploading
If maintaining image order is an important requirement for your workflow, I sincerely recommend you go to Feedback community to vote this similar feedback: (find out similar feedback, if not provide the feedback forum link Ideas · Community).
