New Outlook has stopped working yesterday. Can not access emails or folders within New Outlook. The old classic version works but I cannot access data from New Outlook. My domaine/email provider has check server setting and they are ok. I suspect there is a software issue

    Hi Robert Cooper,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand how inconvenient this is, especially when New Outlook suddenly stops showing your emails and folders while Classic Outlook is still working.

Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators, contributors including external Microsoft employees cannot directly intervene in Microsoft product features or access back-end systems. Our role is limited to providing technical guidance on reported issues, requests, or ideas only.

Since your email provider has already checked and confirmed that the server settings are correct, this may be related to the New Outlook app or its local app data. Please try the steps below:

    • Fully close New Outlook Open Task Manager, select Microsoft Outlook, then choose End task. After that, reopen New Outlook.
    • Update New Outlook Open Microsoft Store > Library > Get updates, then install any available updates for Outlook.
    • Repair or reset New Outlook Go to Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Outlook (new) > Advanced options. Try Repair first. If the incident continues, try Reset. Please note that you may need to sign in again afterward.
    • Reinstall New Outlook If the steps above do not help, uninstall New Outlook and reinstall it from Microsoft Store.

In the meantime, you can continue using Classic Outlook as a temporary workaround, since it can still access your mailbox.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates, thanks.
