It's quite difficult if you have only a normal user account.
Do you see an admin account in the Control Panel?

I am not a computer genius and have suddenly found that I require administrator qualifications to do many things on my computer. My wife and I are the only users and have never had this before! I have tried various fixes as suggested in the forums but keep getting "no" to all requests to change. Any help please. There is no local user etc in the control panel!
