I have no cell phone or alternate email address. I do have a land line. In trying Help, I have been sent a message to have a code sent that I cannot implement.

I have a longstanding Hotmail email account, which apparently in the mist was forgotten to have been started under a different "main" Hotmail address. That address has not been in anyones memory for years, and the actual current utilized email address has been in continuous use for many years. It is recently, with the Outlook transition (but wanting Hotmail to move), that I have experienced a sensed clear hacking of the current Hotmail email address. In trying to solve that by changing things, I ran into the above; i.e. MS saying they need to send a code to the origination of the hotmail address account. I cannot recall or retrieve that email pw information, and thus can't address the use of the hotmail email address that I have utilized for many years. Since the email address was provided, I recall it, but that's it insofar as pw and proceeding further in changing anything. How does one plead the convincing that I am and have always been the sole owner of the origination and subsequent use of the email address (and too without constant auto-help requesting provide a different cell phone or email address)?? Send a puppy with my name on it's collar, and a picture of my handing it to the shipping agent?

Thanks for any help, as to speaking with an actual person to generate the verification process to get this resolved in a secure fashion.

Microsoft Account Security is an automated process. Microsoft Support Agents can not unlock an account, reset your password, or change any Security Settings no matter what documentation you can present.

Try any suggestions from the Account Sign-In Helper:

    • In a Private/Incognito browser session, open: https://aka.ms/sign-in-helper
    • Scroll down to "Choose how you normally sign in, then enter your details"
    • Click "With an email address"
    • Enter your email address and click [OK]

If that is no help, your only option is to use the Account Recovery Form
