A folder in my mail suddenly disappeared. I used it yesterday, but could not find it today. I cannot get it on any of my devices. Tried the suggested troubleshooting items. However, it is nowhere to be found. It contains several important documents.

Thank you very much for your suggestions. I tried the Outlook app, and somehow it recovered the folder for me.

Thanks again, what a relief!

    Hi Sami Sabet,

I understand how concerning it is when an important mail folder suddenly disappears. Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors here cannot access or restore mailbox data directly.

Since the folder is missing on all devices, please first check your mailbox on the web. This helps confirm whether the folder still exists on the mailbox server:

    1. If this is an Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, or MSN account, go to Outlook.com and sign in with the same account used in Outlook for Mac.
      1. Expand the folder list and check whether the missing folder is nested under another folder.
    2. Open Deleted Items or Trash and expand it fully, as deleted folders may appear as subfolders there.
    3. In Deleted Items, select Recover items deleted from this folder and check whether the missing messages can be restored. Deleted items may still be recoverable from Deleted Items or Recoverable Items, depending on the account and retention status.
    4. Use the search box on Outlook.com to search for a message or attachment that was inside the missing folder. If the item appears, check which folder it is currently stored in.

If the folder is also missing on the web and cannot be found in Deleted Items or Recover items deleted from this folder, please contact Outlook for Mac support from inside the app:

    1. Open Outlook for Mac.
    2. From the top menu, select Help > Contact Support.
    3. Select Continue if prompted to allow Outlook logs to be collected.
    4. Enter your name, email address, and a clear description of the issue.
    5. Select Start Conversation.

I hope this helps you confirm whether the folder is still recoverable from the web mailbox before escalating the case to Microsoft Support.
