how to delete groups in outlook

i have a lot of spam groups in outlook. How will i get rid of them?

I understand that you are seeing many unwanted or spam groups in Outlook.com and want to remove them. I’ll be happy to help.

Please also try the steps below:

1) If the spam items appear under Groups in the left pane

If these are Outlook groups, please try the following:

• Sign in to Outlook.com.
• Select Groups from the left side.
• Open the group you want to remove.
• Select Edit Group.
• If you are the group owner, select Delete group.

Only group owners can edit or delete a group. A deleted group and its content can be restored for up to 30 days after deletion. Reference: Edit or delete a Group in Outlook | Microsoft Support

2) If you are not the group owner

If Delete group is not available, you likely do not own the group. In that case, you can leave the group instead.

Steps:

• Open the group.
• Select Group Settings.
• Select Leave Group.

3) If these are spam emails, not Outlook groups

If the items are unwanted emails from group-like senders, newsletters, or mailing lists, they should be handled as junk or phishing emails instead.

Please try the following:

• Select the unwanted message.
• Select Report.
• Choose Junk or Report phishing, depending on the message.
• To stop more mail from the same sender, go to Settings > Mail > Junk email.
• Add the sender or domain under Blocked senders and domains.

Reporting phishing reports the sender, but it does not automatically block future messages. To block future messages, you need to add the sender to the blocked senders list.

4) If the groups keep coming back

Please check what type of item you are seeing, as it depends on the item type.

It may be one of the following:

• A real Outlook Group shown under Groups.
• A contact list in People.
• Spam emails from mailing lists or unwanted senders.
