Microsoft still provides several ways to reach human support agents, but access depends on the product and account type.
For Microsoft 365/Office and most consumer services:
- Use the official Contact Support entry point
Go to the Microsoft Support "Contact us" experience: Contact support.
From there, select the product and issue area, then choose a support option such as chat or (where available) call-back from a human agent. - Use the Get Help app / browser flow
For Microsoft 365 for home, the documented path is:- Try searching online help first.
- If that does not resolve the issue, use the Get Help app or browser to contact support. This flow routes to human support when automated steps are not sufficient.
- Microsoft 365 for business (admins)
If this is a business subscription and there is admin access:- Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center using an admin account.
- Select Support > Help and support.
- Enter the question and select Contact support to open a case and connect with a support agent.
- Admins can also use the documented global support phone numbers when available.
- Community and other support options
- Ask questions in the Microsoft Community: Ask the community.
- For IT pros/admins, use the admin documentation and forums at IT Pros and admins.
- For business support scenarios, use Support for business.
If a pop-up, email, or caller claims to be Microsoft support and asks to call a number directly, that is likely a scam. Microsoft error and warning messages do not include phone numbers to call, and Microsoft does not make unsolicited support calls. Suspicious support contacts can be reported at https://www.microsoft.com/reportascam.
