A Microsoft offering that enables tracking of cloud usage and expenditures for Azure and other cloud providers.
Hello Peter Ayub, Azure doesn't have a single "pay 3 years upfront for everything" button on a standard pay-as-you-go account, so the right path depends on what you want:
- True multi-year prepayment for all your Azure hosting → this is done through a commercial agreement: an Enterprise Agreement (EA) with Azure Prepayment (you commit a dollar amount upfront and consumption draws it down), or a Microsoft Customer Agreement–Enterprise (MCA-E) with an Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC). These are not self-service — engage your Microsoft account team or a CSP/licensing partner to set it up. That's the "someone to walk me through it" you're after.
- Prepay specific workloads upfront (VMs, SQL, etc.) → use Reservations: 1- or 3-year terms, pay upfront, up to ~72% savings. Azure portal → Reservations → Add → 3-year term. Note these cover specific resource types, not literally everything.
- Flexible compute prepay → an Azure Savings Plan for Compute (1 or 3 years, can pay upfront) auto-applies discounts across VM families.
For your scenario (pay ~3 years in advance for hosting), I'd recommend starting with Option 1 (talk to Microsoft sales / a partner about an EA or MCA-E), and layering in Reservations/Savings Plans for your steady-state workloads. If you don't have an account contact yet, open a free Billing support case in the portal (Help + support → Create support request → Billing) and they'll route you to the right team.
