Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Hi Jim Speiser,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.
I understand how frustrating it can be when Outlook suddenly appears larger even though your Windows screen resolution has not changed.
Since you are using Classic Outlook for Windows, this is most likely related to Outlook’s view or spacing settings rather than your monitor resolution. Please try the steps below:
- Open Outlook and go to the View tab.
- Select Use Tighter Spacing to reduce the spacing in the message list.
- Still on the View tab, select Message Preview, then choose Off or 1 Line if each email in your Inbox is taking up multiple lines.
- If the text appears larger than usual, go to View > View Settings > Other Settings, then check Row Font and Column Font and adjust them back to your preferred size.
- You can also go to View > Change View and choose Single if you prefer a more compact message list.
After applying these changes, your Inbox should look closer to the previous compact layout. If Outlook still appears too large, please share a screenshot of the Outlook window so I can help identify exactly which display setting may have changed.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates, thanks.
