Using older versions of Outlook for Mac for personal email and calendar
Hi Manish V,
I understand that your POP account still works on your iPhone, but in Legacy Outlook for Mac it appears inactive and its folders and messages are no longer showing. Since this is a POP account, please avoid removing and re-adding the account before checking the local Outlook folders or creating a backup.
Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors here can suggest general troubleshooting steps, but they cannot access your account or Outlook profile.
Please try the following:
- In Outlook for Mac, go to the Outlook menu and make sure Work Offline is not selected.
- Go to Tools > Accounts, select the POP account, and check whether the incoming and outgoing server settings are still present and correct.
- Check whether the messages are under local folders. Go to Outlook > Settings > General, then make sure Hide On My Computer folders is not selected. POP messages in Outlook for Mac can be stored locally rather than fully synchronized like IMAP or Exchange accounts.
- Before making major changes, export or back up your Outlook data, if possible, especially if you previously stored messages in local folders.
- Update Outlook for Mac, restart the Mac, and then reopen Outlook to check whether the account reconnects.
If the POP account still remains inactive after these checks, I recommend contacting Outlook for Mac in-app support from Help > Contact Support and including your Outlook version, macOS version, POP provider, and the fact that the same account still works on your iPhone. This will help support review whether the issue is related to the local Outlook profile or the POP account configuration. Reference: Contact support within Outlook for Mac | Microsoft Support
I hope this helps you check the local POP folders safely before making any changes that could affect your stored emails.
