For approximately six weeks, every attempt with Copilot to generate images has failed with a server error (HTTP 500) — immediately and reproducibly. The feature has not worked at any point during this period, even though it is part of a service I pay a subscription fee for. Server error (HTTP 500) — immediately and reproducibly.

I look forward to receiving a case number and your response. Andrzej Pilat you can reach me at: <PII removed>@hotmail.com

    Hello Andrzej Pilat,

I’m sorry you have been dealing with this for so long. Since the error is HTTP 500, it may not be something that can be fully fixed from the user side, but I also cannot confirm the exact cause from the Q&A forum alone.

You can still try these quick checks first:

    • Sign out of Copilot, close the browser, then sign back in.
    • Try Copilot in a private/InPrivate window or another browser.
    • Clear site data for Copilot/Bing only.
    • Confirm the paid subscription is active under your Microsoft account services page.
    • Try once from another network, if possible.

If the same error still happens immediately and repeatedly, the better path is to contact Microsoft Support directly, since they can check your account, subscription, region, and service access. Microsoft Q&A cannot create a case number, review billing/subscription entitlement, or reply by private email.

You may also submit this through Feedback Hub or Copilot feedback so the product team receives the failure details.

    Hi Andrzej,

A Server Error (HTTP 500) in Copilot usually indicates a server-side issue or a problem with the copilot itself

    Do this:

Sign out of all Microsoft services:

    https://login.microsoftonline.com/logout.srf

    Close ALL browser windows

    Reopen browser

    Sign back in to Copilot

🧹 Step 1 — Clear Cache (targeted, not full wipe)

    Clear only Microsoft/Copilot data:

    For Edge/Chrome:

    Open Developer Tools (F12)

    Go to:

    Application → Storage

    Click:

    ✅ Clear site data

    OR manually clear:

    copilot.microsoft.com

    bing.com

    🔐 Step 2 — Check Subscription & Entitlement

Since you’re paying, confirm it’s actually active.

    Go to:

    Verify:

Copilot Pro (or relevant plan) is active

    No billing or renewal issue

You are logged in with the same account

⚙️ Step 3 — Disable Extensions (VERY common cause)

    Especially:

    Ad blockers

    Privacy blockers

    Script blockers

    VPN browser extensions

    Quick test:

Open Incognito + disable extensions → retry

🌐 Step 4 — Disable VPN / Change Network Route

HTTP 500 loops often happen due to:

    VPN routing

    regional CDN issues

    Try:

    Turn OFF VPN

    Switch network (mobile hotspot)

Try different country endpoint (if VPN is needed)
