Why I am unable to download my AI-901 certification which I passed on 29th Jun 2026?

I am unable to download my AI-901 certification which I passed on 29th Jun 2026. I don't see it available in my Credentials section where I am seeing my Old certification which I passed in Oct 2020. Kindly suggest how to get it resolved..

I think this is not right way to consume a voucher. If you are not going to issue a new certificate & don't update the progression in record then you make such upgrades (due to retirement of previous version of exam) part of Renewal not ask candidates to buy a new exam & don't issue certificate for new exam. It doesn't make any sense to me. This is not right way to do it. Better you achieve the old data, add the new data & issue a new certificate.

Do you mean you passed AI-900 previously? If so you earned the Azure AI Fundamentals certification when you passed AI-900 in 2020.

Exams are not certifications.

The Azure AI Fundamentals certification has not changed, only the exam required to earn it. Passing the AI-901 exam does not earn a new certification nor does it change the date that certification was earned.

The Azure AI Fundamentals certification page showed that AI-900 and AI-901 exams both earned the same certification.

Fundamentals certifications do not expire and do not require renewal. You were not required to sit the AI-901 exam.

I know Fundamental certifications don't require renewal, then AI-900 shouldn't be retired & AI-901 shouldn't be called replacement of AI-901. If it is replacement then there should be free AI-901 certifications opportunity should be provided or AI-900 holders should be upgraded to AI-901 by just passing a renewal type of exam free rather than asking to buy AI-901 but not issuing a AI-901 certificate. It doesn't justify at all. You can't have 2 different rules.
I am not convinced at all with this approach.

I will repeat exams are not certifications. AI-900 and AI-901 are exams. Both earn the same certification, Azure AI Fundamentals. AI-900 replaces AI-901 as the method to earn the certification. If you have passed AI-900 there is no requirement to pass AI-901 and in fact there is little point in doing so. AI-901 is not a renewal type of exam - there is no such concept. No one asked you to buy and pass AI-901.

There are not different rules. Microsoft regularly changes the exams required for a certification e.g., for Azure Administrator the exams required to earn it have evolved from AZ-100/101-> A-103-> AZ-104. People who passed the original exams were not required to take the new exams.

AI-901 is an exam, not a separate certification. Passing AI-901 updates the exam record but does not create a new certification or a new downloadable certificate. The existing "Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals" certification remains a single credential, regardless of whether it was earned via AI-900 or AI-901, and it keeps the original earned date.

In addition, the ability to download certificates has changed:

Certificates are no longer downloadable as separate files from the Credentials section.
Instead, certifications must be viewed, printed, and then saved as PDF from the Microsoft Learn credentials page.

To access and save the certification:

Go to the Microsoft Learn credentials page: https://learn.microsoft.com/users/me/credentials/?tab=credentials-tab.
Locate the existing "Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals" certification (earned in 2020).
Use the view/print option and save it as a PDF for your records.

If the certification is not visible at all under your credentials, or if the exam is shown as passed but no certification appears, submit a request to Microsoft Credentials support for assistance.
