Hi Pat Rogers,
Please try the Independent Advisor's recommendations first, including restarting SearchHost.exe and Windows Explorer, and let us know the results.
If the issue persists after trying those steps, you can also try the following:
1.Run the Search and Indexing troubleshooter:
- Press Windows + R, type: msdt.exe -ep WindowsHelp id SearchDiagnostic
- Follow the prompts and apply any recommended fixes.
2.Verify that the Windows Search service is running:
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc and press Enter.
- Locate Windows Search and confirm it is running and set to Automatic (Delayed Start). If it is stopped, start or restart the service.
3.Rebuild the search index:
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Searching > Advanced indexing options > Advanced > Rebuild.
- Once complete, restart the PC and test Search again.
Please keep me updated on the results of the Independent Advisor's suggestions and the checks above. I'll be happy to help further.
