I'm so tired of microsoft at this poin, I've been struggling with the same problem for weeks now, tried everything I found online and i've been trying to reach support for 2 hours now it's just a loop of dead end links that lead to nothing.
I can't download anything from the microsoft store, every time I receive the same error code 0x803FB005.
Is there anyone in that God forbidden company that's able to help me or do I need to move to linux in order to have access to whatsapp on my pc?

    Hi Eduard Tanasoiu,

Have you ever used PowerShell admin? and run sfc /scannow and also DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

I also have a PowerShell script (from MS) which can reset the store if you want to try that route.

0x803FB005 is not OS‑specific. It’s caused by a broken AppX dependency chain inside the Microsoft Store.

    Hi Eduard Tanasoiu,

I understand how frustrating this must be, especially after trying for weeks and getting stuck in loops while trying to reach a real support agent. Error 0x803FB005 usually points to a Microsoft Store download or installation issue, so it may not be specific to WhatsApp only.

Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators, contributors including external Microsoft employees cannot directly intervene in Microsoft product features or access back-end systems. My role is limited to providing technical guidance on reported issues, requests, or ideas.

To narrow this down, could you please confirm:

    • Does error 0x803FB005 appear when downloading every app from Microsoft Store, or only WhatsApp?
    • Can you open Microsoft Store normally?
    • Are you signed in to Microsoft Store with a Microsoft account?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried so far? For example: wsreset.exe, repairing/resetting Microsoft Store, Windows Update, or the Store troubleshooter.

In the meantime, please try the steps below:

    • Press Windows + R, type wsreset.exe, then press Enter. Wait for Microsoft Store to reopen automatically.
    • Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Microsoft Store > Advanced options, then select Repair. If that does not help, select Reset.
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, then install any pending updates and restart your PC.
    • Run the Microsoft Store troubleshooter from Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Windows Store Apps > Run the troubleshooter.
    • Sign out of Microsoft Store, restart your PC, then sign back in and try downloading WhatsApp again.

If you still need to contact Microsoft Support directly, please kindly follow these steps below:

    • Visit to this link: Contact - Microsoft Support
    • Select Get home support
    • Type your issue (use correct keyword to reach live chat support) > select Get help
    • Scroll down and find Contact Support
    • At the box Select your product or service
    • At the box Select your product category
    • After that you select Chat with a support agent in your web browser

If the support page keeps looping, try using a different browser or an InPrivate/Incognito window, and make sure you are signed in with your Microsoft account before starting the contact flow.

While my initial response may not fully resolve the issue, I truly appreciate your cooperation as we work together toward identifying the most effective solution. Thank you so much for your understanding.
