For the past several years I've been waiting for a fix for Word's exporting and save as dialogues. Every single time I attempt to save or export a document, when I type into the the 'File name:' box it freezes for about five seconds, decides to lose focus, and refuses to put focus back.
So I click on the line to name the document, move my hands to my keyboard, start typing- it freezes, refuses to return focus to what I was doing, then I have to move the mouse back, click again, and start typing again then I can finally save or export.
Why is this happening? Why is this going on so long? This is happening on every computer I own, it isn't unique to one installation.
I just want to name documents in a nice easy way, it shouldn't be a fight to accomplish this basic goal.

Sorry, I am not able to reproduce any error of this sort either. My best guess would be to start with an Office Repair on all computers. Ther Online Repair option is more thorough.
Are you referring to the Save As dialog box in the full version of Word, running on Windows?
I am not seeing anything strange with the dialog box here (Windows 11 Professional, Office Home & Business 2024).
Which file format are you using for the affected file(s)?
Hello! Thanks for replying. These are docx and PDF file types, and the full installation of Office 2021 Professional Plus.
I thought I could repair or reinstall Office, but this happens on my laptop, my Surface Pro, my office PC, and my gaming PC. Some of these devices have been fully reset or had a whole new version of Windows installed on a fresh drive, this is a problem with every single device.

Are you perhaps running some add-in with Word—an add-in which has been installed on all these devices?
