MS Word - Pinned Files Do Not Show Separately in the Task Bar Icon

One of the great features in MS Office is accessing frequently used files from the Pinned Files list that appear when you right click on the Word or Excel icons pinned to the Task Bar. After the last MS Office 365 update, the pinned files no longer show for MS Word, but do show in MS Excel. My question: how do I get the Pinned feature to work again with MS Word?

    1

    Open the Settings App.

    Go to Personalization - Start.

Disable this setting - Show recommended files in Start, recent files in File Explorer and items in Jump lists.

Wait a few seconds, then re-enable that settings.

    2

    Open File Explorer.

On the top menu, click the 3 dots and select Options.

On the resulting utility, click the Clear button and ensure all options in the Privacy section are enabled.

Then click the Restore Defaults button.

Restart your PC to apply the changes, then in Word, open a couple of files and check if they appear on the Word Icon jump lists on the taskbar.
