Outlook Account Hacked and Hacker setup 2FA

Question

Hi Everyone

I have been faced a Issue that a Malicious hacker have changed my recovery email and contact number from my email id. and he had setup recovery email as his email address ******@gmail.com and even setup 2FA . Now i am in a position cannot access my email and i have lots of my personal emails which i have archived from many years as record. at the moment i am seeking any support from Microsoft to at least locked / suspend the email at least the scammer cannot not access anymore.

I am receiving the emails form Microsoft account team saying a an unusual activity detected with multiple location like USA, UAE and other but still hoping if Microsoft for taking control on email and hold access until genuine person identity verified..

I had filled the recovery forms and provided the answer with last email address used with subject but didn't get response from Microsoft yet. I hoping there would be the way that i can get my account back, its a big challenge the email that i use for all my daily communication and now suddenly i have to change every where.

I am asking a community a help if some one have faced a same issue please reply.

Whether they are capable of doing what you say or not, they won't, in my experience. Protecting access to your account is your responsibility if the account is important to you. That's the reality of today's electronic world. I'm not trying to be callous, only realistic.

Hi

Microsoft can reset the 2FA linked phone number and reset it. Microsoft can provide to re setup 2FA again after verified the identity. Secondly i have enough proof to show that i am the account holder as i have cc’d my kid school email to her mother where i can bring up as proof that i am the right holder of emails. I hope Microsoft cannot see these question and approach for solution.

If the hacker changed your primary alias and enabled two-factor authentication, the sad truth is that you will never be able to recover that account. Microsoft won't simply accept your word that the account belonged to you. Did you use a password you had used for some other account or service? If so, that's most likely how your account was taken over. Passwords should always be long, complex and completely unique for each account you use. You also should have enabled two-factor authentication or passkeys for yourself when you created the account. I wish I had better news.
