Azure Free Account

Activated:

21 June 2026

Expected expiry:

21 July 2026 (based on Azure portal information I previously saw)

Current expiry shown:

7 July 2026

Total usage:

Approx USD 6.19 only

Credit transaction:

Credit expired -$193.81

Question:

Why did the remaining promotional credit expire after about 16 days instead of the advertised 30 days?

Can Microsoft verify the promotional credit history for my subscription?

Thank you for your response. I attempted to create a free Azure Billing support request as suggested, but the Azure portal only redirects me to the automated "Solutions" page and never allows me to reach the "Additional details" or "Review + create" steps to submit a billing case. Could you please advise how I can contact Azure Billing or bypass the automated troubleshooter for this issue?

Azure Free Account credit is valid for 30 days from the offer activation date, or until it is fully used. A transaction showing Credit expired -$193.81 means the unused balance was closed, not consumed by resources.

If the recorded start date is 21 June 2026, an expiry on 7 July 2026 does not match the normal period. Microsoft Q&A cannot inspect the private credit ledger or determine whether an earlier enrollment date was recorded.

Open a free Azure Billing support request and select Billing, then Credits or Assistance with a bill. Include the welcome email, Credits page showing the grant and expiry dates, credit transaction, Cost Analysis, subscription offer ID, and the time the subscription became disabled. Ask the team to verify the entitlement's effective date and restore the unused balance if it expired incorrectly.
