Hi - I bought a new laptop and transferred all the data and sign in info from my Mom's account and her laptop which I had been using (she is 89 years old and does not use a computer any longer). I had previously purchased a Microsoft account and have that registered under my email account

I would like to be able to set up my laptop with my user name along with my Microsoft account - can you please help me switch this over?

Thank you

    Hi Sylvia,

    Open the Settings App.

Go to Accounts - Your Info.

On that window, there should either be an option to 'Switch to a Local Account' or the option to 'Stop automatically logging into apps with this account'.

Select whichever of those two options exist, that will switch your Windows account to a Local account.

Wait a few seconds, then you can click the option to add a Microsoft account to your user and add the details of your own Microsoft account to the user.
