Microsoft Word 2021 not working

Today I downloaded Microsoft Word 2021 for Mac, after paying. What landed into my laptop is not Microsoft Word 2021, it is not possible to type into the Word documents, the wrong email address for me is displayed, etc.

Thanks for explaining the situation.

This sounds like Word may not be activated with the Microsoft account that owns the purchase, which can make Word open in a limited mode where editing is unavailable.

Please try the following to see if it can fix this issue:

1. Sign in at Services & subscriptions using the email address you used to buy Word/Office 2021 and confirm the license appears there. Office activation requires the account linked to the purchase.
2. Open Word, then sign out of the currently displayed account. Quit all Office apps fully.
3. Reopen Word and sign in with the account that shows the Office 2021 license. Word should check for the valid license and activate.
4. If the wrong email still appears, run the Office for Mac license removal tool, then open Word again and sign in with the correct licensed account. This removes old or incorrect Office license files from the Mac.
