    Hi Deepak Kumar,

When you plug in the dongle, Windows creates a hardware ID entry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\VID_046D to store the device configuration. If this data becomes corrupted, the system fails to load the correct generic input drivers. To clear this state, execute devmgmt.msc to open the Device Manager console, expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers section, and uninstall the unknown device or the one displaying a yellow warning icon. Restarting your machine and using a different USB port forces the operating system to rebuild that registry path and cleanly initialize the required driver files.

If Device Manager successfully recognizes the Logitech Unifying Receiver but the mouse remains unresponsive, the fault lies in the local radio frequency link between the physical hardware components. You can restore this communication by downloading the official Logitech Unifying Software. Running this utility interfaces directly with the receiver's firmware, prompting you to toggle the power switch on the M720 mouse to establish a new, secure pair with the dongle.

Hope this answer has brought you some useful information. If it did, please hit “accept answer”. Should you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment.
