Lost note in OneNote visible on web search bar but can't open it

One of my notes appeared lost on OneNote MacOS app.

Nowhere to be found in deleted notes etc...

However, when I type the note name into the search bar on OneNote Web, I can see that the page comes up, but when I click on it, it doesn't load and just patches me through to the sub collection of notes where the lost note used to exist.

Any help recovering this would be greatly appreciated.

The fact that the search feature on OneNote Web still finds the page by name suggests that OneNote may still hold a reference to it, even though the page fails to open correctly when selected.

To help determine whether the page can still be recovered, I recommend checking the following:

Check the Notebook Recycle Bin in OneNote Web

Even if you have already checked deleted notes, please also verify whether the page appears in the notebook's recycle bin.

Confirm whether the page is missing in both OneNote for Mac and OneNote Web

Is the page only missing in the Mac app, or is it also missing when you browse the notebook directly in OneNote Web?

This can help determine whether the issue is related to synchronization or to the page itself.

Review the section and any section groups carefully

Since clicking the search result takes you to the correct section, it is possible that the page has been moved, hidden, or misplaced within the notebook structure.

If possible, please share:

The search result where the page appears.
What happens immediately after you click the result.

One detail that stands out is that OneNote Search is still able to locate the page name. Because of this, I currently suspect this may be a synchronization, notebook reference, or search-index issue rather than a complete loss of data.

Based on your latest findings, I understand that:

The page is missing from both OneNote for Mac and OneNote on the web.

The Notebook Recycle Bin is empty.

The page does not appear in the notebook structure itself.

However, OneNote Cloud Search is still able to find a search result that appears to reference the missing page.

When you select that result, OneNote redirects you to the correct section, but the page itself is no longer present.

Given everything you have already verified, I'm concerned that this may no longer be a typical synchronization or navigation issue. The behavior suggests that a search reference to the page may still exist, while the page content itself is no longer accessible through the normal OneNote interfaces.

To avoid having you spend additional time on troubleshooting steps that may not provide any further progress, and to help ensure you receive the most accurate and timely assistance possible, I would recommend involving Microsoft Support for a deeper investigation.
