my building blocks are not working

Dear sir/madam

I am working with a word document and since I said yes to change the normal by mistake

I am no longer able to work with my building blocks/auto text when I open a word document.

My building blocks are under 1033 > 16 and the size of the file is 2,949kb so quite big.

How do I get these to work again as when I try alt F3 it says the specified name is not valid

Does the problem appear to be with your custom Building Blocks or with the built-in ones?

If the built-in Building Blocks, specifically, are malfunctioning, you need to delete the Built-in Building Blocks.dotx template from the path you cited in your question.

By default, AutoText is stored in the Normal.dotm template.

It is possible that Word stored a copy of your Normal template when you told it to change it.

Look in your User Templates Folder for a file named Normal.wbk or NormalOld.dotm. If it is there, with Word closed:

• If Normal.wbk, rename Normal.dotm to NormalNew.dotm or something similar and then rename Normal.wbk to be Normal.dotm. Try Word again to see if your AutoText is restored.
• If NormalOld.dotm or something similar is there, and Normal.wbk was not present or did not help, again with Word closed, rename Normal.dotm to something else and then rename NormalOld.dotm to Normal.dotm.

I tend to store my AutoText and other custom building blocks in one or more custom global templates.
