Email sent from Exchange mailboxes no longer saving in Sent items

I use Outlook 365 for managing Gmail accounts, a POP account and two Microsoft Exchange mail accounts. Until May, all mail I sent from any of those accounts saved my sent items folder for each account with "save copies of sent items in the sent items folder" option for sent mail unchecked in Outlook. If I checked that item I would end up with two copies or sometimes an endless loop of extra copies of every sent email in my sent folder in my Gmail accounts. Now the Gmail save sent items in my sent folder, but neither the exchange accounts or the POP account do. How can I get the exchange accounts to save the sent mail without creating the extra copies of my Gmails?

    Hi @Glenda Roberts,

Please try the step by step below:

First quit the Outlook app Save any work you may be doing.

Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run box. Type the following path into the box and press Enter. %localappdata%

    User's image

In the opened folder, select Microsoft >Outlook.

    User's image

    User's image

In the next folder containing your Outlook profile and cache files. Find the RoamCache folder and double-click to open it.

    User's image

Select all files using Ctrl + A on your keyboard >right-click and select the Delete option.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

    Hi @Glenda Roberts,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand that emails sent from your Exchange accounts are no longer being saved in the Sent Items folder, while your Gmail accounts continue to save sent messages. Since enabling Outlook's option to save sent items results in duplicate messages for your Gmail accounts, I would like to gather a few more details to better understand the issue.

Could you please let us know:

    • For the Exchange accounts, do sent messages appear in the Sent Items folder when you access the mailbox through Outlook on the web (OWA), or are they missing there as well?
    • Does this issue occur for other users in your organization as well, or only for your account?

As an additional troubleshooting step, could you create a new Windows user profile and check whether the issue persists there? This can help determine whether the problem is related to your current Windows profile or Outlook configuration.

You can find guidance here:  Manage User Accounts in Windows - Microsoft Support

Thank you again for your time and understanding. I really appreciate your patience, and I’m here to help. Looking forward to your response.
