Set up new laptop that came with windows 11. Bought Pro upgrade from Microsoft Store. The receipt says Pro upgrade purchased. Microsoft store installed Enterprise. Now my key is not working to activate. I can't change the key because I don't have it from the store. I tried resetting but it reinstalled to Enterprise. How do I get back to Pro so it will activate? Even the laptop description on my account says Enterprise.

    Hi there,

These issues occurs rarely in Windows PRO upgrade . The simplest way would be to reset the PC and then try the update.

Open Recovery settings or select Start Windows logo Start button > Settings Gear-shaped Settings icon > Update & Security Circular arrows Sync icon > Recovery.

Under Reset this PC, select Get started.

The next option is to change the the Key in the activation and use this default key which will trigger the upgrade.

Same issue on a brand new SP7. Came with Windows 10 Home upgraded to Windows 11 Home. Then purchased upgraded from Home to Pro from Microsoft Store. Now computer says Activate Windows but when I try I get Error Code: 0xC004C003 and version says it is Windows 11 Enterprise. Would love to get a hold of Microsoft Support but keeps directing me to online support. Anyone have any tips on contacting them via phone or email?

I just did a migration from Windows 11 Home to Pro purchased through the MS Store. Verified it was Pro using winver. User had an image viewer issue so I logged back in and it has switched to Windows 11 Business. I understand that Business is an enhanced version of windows with more cloud features than Pro. My concern is user cant login to MS Store using his M365 Business Premium licensed corporate email.

    1. Why did it randomly upgrade to Business version?
    2. Why is it acting like Home and not allowing corporate email login?

I am concerned this can cause issues down the road with version and license key mismatch like the OP.

    Thanks
