Hi Steven Burris,
I understand how frustrating it can be when you are trying to add money for a family member and the transaction will not go through.
Please try the following steps:
- Sign in to https://family.microsoft.com/ using the family organizer’s Microsoft account.
- Select the family member, then choose Add money, or Manage spending > Add money if the account already has a balance.
- Check that the payment method has not expired and that the card number, billing name, address and security code match the information held by the payment provider.
- Remove and add the payment method again or try another available payment method.
- Clear the browser’s cache and cookies, then try again in an InPrivate or Incognito window. You can also temporarily disable browser extensions that might block the payment or verification window.
- If possible, retry from another browser or device and avoid using a VPN or proxy during the transaction.
Microsoft’s official instructions for adding funds are available here: Add money to a family member’s Microsoft account. The family organizer must select the member, choose the amount and complete the purchase using an available payment method.
If the transaction still cannot be completed after these steps, please contact Microsoft Support. Sign in, enter a description such as “Unable to add money to a family member’s account,” select Get Help, and then choose Contact Support if that option appears. The support team can review account-specific payment or transaction information that should not be shared publicly.
Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum. Community moderators and contributors do not have access to payment records or back-end account systems, so I cannot inspect or complete the transaction from here.
I hope one of the steps above helps you complete the transaction successfully. Thank you so much for your understanding.
