New account suspended within about a day of a Google Ads import, before any ad ran. Would appreciate a human review.

Hello,

I recently created my first Microsoft Advertising account and could use some help understanding what happened.

I set it up in late June 2026 using the Import from Google Ads option. I signed in with Google, imported my existing campaigns, set the currency to EUR and the time zone to Bucharest, and the import brought in two Search campaigns, both left paused. I never enabled, edited, or ran any of them, and no ad was ever served.

Within about a day of creating the account, it was suspended. The notice says the content in my account is in violation of Microsoft Advertising policies and refers to an egregious violation. I have not been told which policy or what content, and since nothing was ever created or run, I do not understand what it refers to.

After the suspension, I submitted my Advertiser Identity Verification. It stayed in Pending for several days, which I was later told was longer than the usual three to five business days, and then it failed. I was told the failure may have been due to a mismatch between the business name I entered at signup and the name on my registration documents, though I do not recall entering it incorrectly and cannot confirm it. In any case, because the account is now suspended, I am unable to edit the business name or resubmit the verification.

I am a legitimate, registered EU business, and I set this up in an entirely ordinary way, just a new account and an import of my own campaigns. Would someone be able to look into my case and, if appropriate, escalate it for a manual review of the suspension? I would be very grateful for any help getting this resolved, and I am happy to provide any documentation or verification needed.

Thank you very much for any help.

    Hello David,

Thank you for using our Microsoft Advertising Learn Q&A Platform!

I apologize for the inconvenience you’re experiencing, and I appreciate your proactive communication about the issue as I see how important it is to get your access back on your account.

Generally, there could be a number of reasons why our system would suspend an account. While I can’t disclose specific reasons for account suspensions due to security protocols, I’ve summarized common areas where accounts might not comply with our advertising policies. Please see a list of important policies below to ensure you are following them:

Please note that under the Digital Services Act (DSA), all customers are eligible to appeal their account status up to six months after their account status change. Customers will receive an email notification indicating the reason for their account status change with an option to appeal.

If you have received the aforementioned email, please proceed by submitting your appeal. That being said, you may need to complete Advertiser Identity Verification (AIV) at first, before you can appeal the account suspension decision. To learn more about AIV, I recommend checking the extended help article on this forum platform, as well as the relevant help pages shared below. Please note that you may need to complete AIV up to three times.

Our support teams are pleased to engage in more in-depth discussions about your account through phone, chat, or email to offer review assistance, please see our support page to reach out!

I trust that the details shared here will partially address your inquiry. Should you have any further questions, feel free to contact our support. Additionally, I’ve sent you a private message requesting additional information. Please don’t hesitate to reply if you require further assistance.

    Kind regards,
