Hello Joseph John Crisostomo,
Unable to start an Office app can be caused by a damaged Office installation, an app hanging in the background, an outdated Windows version, or an add-in or startup conflict.
I recommend trying these basic checks first:
- Press Windows + R, enter
services.msc, and press Enter. Find Microsoft Office Click-to-Run Service, make sure it is not Disabled, then select Start or Restart if available. - Test Word in Safe Mode: press Windows + R, enter
winword /safeand press Enter. For Excel, enterexcel /safe. If the app opens this way, an add-in or another startup component may be interfering.
If the issue continues, please confirm:
- What exactly happens when opening Office apps? (nothing, a brief loading screen, or an error message)
- Which Windows version is installed?
- Which exact Office product are you using?
- Have you already uninstalled Office and reinstalled it from the Microsoft account connected to the license?
I look forward to your response so we could determine what to do next!
Best regards.
