Account Recovery Rejected on Brand New Account For PC Setup

I created brand new outlook account during windows installation of my new PC. Password is rejected, recovery email was never verified, password reset emails never arrive, account recovery form denied, and BitLocker recovery key is stored in that inaccessible account. I need escalation to the Microsoft Account team. Please can someone help me!

I'm stuck with $1500 hardware that I can't use because Microsoft makes it impossible to contact a human being - and their recovery prompting to check emails don't come with the email they ask to check. The phone numbers don't let you through to support rep either, and every troubleshooting doc routes back to the same recovery form I was rejected from - despite the account being 1 day old and no data on the account at all! I have all the recovery details needed, but its rejected and I cannot use my PC.

Incredible time waste, and just want this resolved

    Hello Jack King,

I’m sorry to hear you are locked out of a brand-new PC.

First, contact Microsoft Support and explain that the newly created account is inaccessible and contains the BitLocker recovery key. Also check every possible key location listed in Microsoft’s https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security/encryption/find-your-bitlocker-recovery-key. Microsoft Support cannot retrieve or recreate a missing BitLocker key, but Support can review the account-recovery issue.

Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators and contributors, including external Microsoft employees, are not allowed to directly interfere with Microsoft product features or access back-end systems. Our role is limited solely to providing technical guidance on reported incidents, requests, or ideas.

Try not to worry too much about the hardware itself. If the account and recovery key cannot be recovered, the PC can still be made usable by reinstalling Windows. This erases the encrypted drive, so only use this option if there is no important data to preserve. Since the PC and account are brand new, the practical loss may be limited, and the computer itself is not permanently locked.

If you’ve created a brand‑new Outlook account during Windows setup and are unable to access it (password rejected, recovery email unverified, reset emails not arriving, recovery form denied), and your BitLocker recovery key is stored in that account, you may feel completely locked out of your PC.

Unfortunately, without the recovery key, even Microsoft Support agents will advise the same resolution: performing a clean installation of Windows.

    • Reinstall Windows using a bootable USB drive.
    • Be aware that this process will wipe all data on the drive, including any files currently stored.
    • You can create installation media using the Windows Media Creation Tool on another PC.

Since the BitLocker recovery key is inaccessible, the only viable option is to reinstall Windows. While this results in data loss, it ensures you can regain access to your hardware and set up a new, verified Microsoft account for future use.

If you would still like to confirm this guidance, you can reach Microsoft Support directly:
