I need to find a thread of emails related to one topic, which have been filed in various outlook sub-folders. How do you find all related messages in a conversation from all the created mail folders in the new outlook program

Try turning on Conversation view go to the View tab, toggle Show as Conversations, then pick either All Folders or This Folder. Once conversation view is on, threads automatically group messages from every folder together, including subfolders.

Or you can just right-click any email in the thread and select Show all messages related.

In the new Outlook, you can search for the conversation instead of looking through each folder one by one.

Type the email subject, sender, or a unique phrase from one of the messages into the search bar. After the search results appear, make sure the search scope is set to All Mailboxes or All Folders (depending on your account). Then sort or group the results by Conversation if that option is available. This will show all emails that belong to the same conversation, even if you've moved them into different Outlook folders.

If you still don't see every message, check that all your folders are included in the search and that Outlook has finished indexing your mailbox.
