Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue with a Bluetooth headset that only occurs during Microsoft Teams calls.

Issue:

  • Audio becomes robotic/distorted during Teams calls and Teams test calls.
  • The issue happens consistently when using the headset via Bluetooth.

Troubleshooting completed:

  • Updated Microsoft Teams to the latest version.
  • Verified the headset is selected as the Speaker and Microphone in Teams.
  • Performed Teams test calls.
  • Updated the headset firmware to the latest version.
  • Re-paired the Bluetooth headset.

Additional observations:

  • The headset works perfectly when playing audio from YouTube.
  • The headset works normally for phone calls.
  • The issue only occurs in Microsoft Teams.
  • The headset is connected using Bluetooth (not USB).

Has anyone experienced a similar issue with Bluetooth headsets and Teams? Are there any known compatibility issues with Teams audio processing, Bluetooth profiles, or Windows Bluetooth drivers that could cause robotic audio during calls?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

Dear @Amir Rameli,

Thank you for providing the detailed information and for the troubleshooting steps you have already completed. Based on your description, since the Bluetooth headset works normally for YouTube and phone calls, but the audio becomes robotic only during Microsoft Teams calls and test calls, the issue may be related to the Bluetooth audio profile, Bluetooth drivers, audio enhancements, or how Teams processes audio during calls.

First, please follow these steps:

Windows Settings > Bluetooth & devices > select your Bluetooth headset > Audio > expand Properties > Advanced sound properties > Advanced settings > Audio enhancements. From there, try changing the setting to Device Default Effects. If the issue persists, try setting Audio Enhancements to Off and test another Teams call. After making the change, please perform a Teams test call and let me know whether the audio quality improves.

Additionally, you may review the response provided by Tyler in the following Microsoft Q&A discussion and see whether the suggested troubleshooting steps apply to your scenario: Loud static coming through bluetooth headphones on MS Teams

Appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation. Please feel free to reply below if you have any update or further concern.

I am looking forward to your response!
