I used to be able to "ctrl+shift+arrow keys" on Edge with the email signed in but for some reason now I am unable to. I can "ctrl+shift+arrow keys" on other microsoft apps (excel, word, onenote) and am able to do the same when signed into a different account. I specifically need this to work with this email signed in as I work with this email.

    • Restart Microsoft Edge.
    • Try the shortcut in InPrivate mode to check if an extension is interfering.
    • Disable Edge extensions one by one.
    • Make sure Caret Browsing (F7) is turned off.
    • Test with a different Windows user account.
    • Update Edge to the latest version.
    • If it only happens with one Microsoft account, sign out and sign back in, or reset the Edge profile.

    Hi Herbert,

Thanks for reaching out. Since Ctrl + Arrow and Shift + Arrow both work, and Ctrl + Shift + Arrow works in other Microsoft apps and with a different Edge account, the issue appears to be specific to the affected Edge profile rather than the keyboard or Windows.

To help narrow this down, could you let me know whether Ctrl + Shift + Left/Right Arrow fails on all websites or only in certain text fields (for example, Outlook on the web, webmail, forums or other online editors)?

In the meantime, please try the following:

-Open an InPrivate window (Ctrl + Shift + N) and check whether the shortcut works there.

-Temporarily disable all extensions by going to edge://extensions, then restart Edge and test again. Some extensions can interfere with keyboard shortcuts.

-Create a new Edge profile and sign in with the same Microsoft account. Before changing any settings or installing extensions, test whether the shortcut works. If it does, the original Edge profile may be corrupted.

-If the issue persists only in the affected profile, try resetting Edge settings by navigating to edge://settings/reset and selecting Restore settings to their default values. This won't remove your favorites, passwords, or browsing history, but it will reset Edge settings and disable extensions.

Please let me know the results, especially whether the issue occurs on all websites and whether it persists in a new Edge profile. I'll be happy to help with the next steps.
