Classic Outlook no longer syncing with icloud in windows 11

Before I upgraded to windows 11 I could sync my outlook calendar & contacts etc with ICLOUD. I know there is a new version of outlook which is INcompatible but I reverted back to classic. I'm getting various messages but the main one is "Your setup couldn't be started because of an unexpected error (0x800706ba)" and when I click 'Try again' I get a message saying "Setup cannot continue because outlook isn't configured to have a default profile (it does by the way). Check settings and try again."

Is there any resolve for this at all? (I have tried all of the AI suggestions etc).

Is this the error? It's coming from iCloud?

    icloud error: no default profile

If so, it's bogus. Has nothing to do with your Outlook Profiles. It's because iCloud doesn't like the Default Outlook Data File for the profile.

    Hi Paul Cullen,

I understand that iCloud Calendar and Contacts stopped syncing with Classic Outlook after the Windows 11 upgrade, and iCloud now shows 0x800706ba followed by a message that Outlook is not configured with a default profile.

Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors cannot access the Outlook or iCloud configuration on your PC.

To avoid asking you to repeat troubleshooting, could you please confirm:

    1. Which steps have you already tried?
    2. Which version of Classic Outlook are you using? In Outlook, select File > Office Account > About Outlook.
    3. Was Microsoft 365 or Office installed from the Microsoft Store, or directly from your Microsoft account?
    4. Under Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles, what profile is selected under Always use this profile?

Please remove any email addresses or other personal information from screenshots before posting them publicly.

Once these details are available, the next steps can be matched more closely to your installation and the specific setup messages.
