Need to merge new account accidently opened with current account

Question

I accidentally opened a new Microsoft account when I lost my email for a few days and had to set up a new personal email on a new host when I already have a subscription to Microsoft 365. Now, I cannot close that account and I want to either close it or merge it with my current account.

It's not possible to link, merge, or combine Microsoft personal accounts, and you can't you transfer such things as your game progress or gamertag, account purchases, and balance from one account to another, but accounts can be used side by side.

• Add accounts to Outlook. You cannot add another Microsoft account (either current or closed) as an account alias, but you can add another Microsoft, Gmail, or work/school email to Outlook. Learn how.
• OneDrive. You can use OneDrive to sync both your work or school files and personal files. The storage remains separate, so you can't sync work or school folders to your OneDrive personal folders, but you can copy or drag and drop files from one to another. Learn more.
• Share your subscription. If you have a Microsoft 365 Family subscription, you can share your subscription and its benefits with up to 5 other people. Accounts you share with are not linked, and emails, OneDrive files & photos remain private (unless you share files or photos).
