How do I get back Manual IMAP setup on Outlook for Android

Question

Outlook on Android randomly asked me to sign in again to my Icloud account. All attempts at auto setup repeatedly fail. I do know how to set up the connection manually but outlook forces me into an auto setup loop that continually fails. Even trying to trick outlook into manual setup using a fake e-mail fails as it greys out the e-mail address and will not allow me to change it once I access manual setup.

Please let me setup my own e-mail manually. I know all about app specific passwords, I just need access to manual setup.

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. When adding the account, enter your iCloud email address. Outlook will detect it as an iCloud account and redirect you to Apple’s official sign-in page. To bypass automatic setup, look to the bottom of the setup screen and select Not iCloud? Then select Change account provider. Then choose IMAP and enter the server settings manually, using your iCloud app-specific password when prompted.
