I've been trying to use mendeley to help with my citations, but everytime i tried to open it on my word it kept asking me to sign in even though i am already signed in. Meanwhile, if im signed out, the Mendeley works just fine. However, i need to be signed in to work on the file since i saved it on my OneDrive and i'd like to turn on the autosave settings.Screenshot 2026-07-24 at 09.47.42

    Hi keysha rania,

I understand how inconvenient it is when Mendeley Cite repeatedly asks you to sign in, especially when you need to stay signed in to access your OneDrive document and use AutoSave.

Please try the following steps on your Mac:

    • Close Word completely, reopen it, and install any available updates via Help > Check for Updates.
    • Open Mendeley Cite. If the add-in pane displays a profile menu, select Clear Web Cache.
    • If that option is unavailable, close all Office applications, open Terminal, and run: npx office-addin-cache clear
    • Reopen Word, sign in using the same personal Microsoft account connected to OneDrive, and try Mendeley Cite again.
    • Open the document directly from Word > File > Open > OneDrive, then enable AutoSave.

If the sign-in prompt continues, please provide your Word version under Word > About Microsoft Word and let us know whether other Office add-ins behave the same way.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates, thanks.
