Hi Rohan Saha,
I understand how concerning this is, especially since you had already managed to restore the page once.
To help narrow this down, when you restored the page on your laptop, did OneNote show that the notebook had finished syncing before the page was accidentally swiped on the iPad? Also, by “swiped,” do you mean that the page was deleted or did it simply disappear from the page list?
In the meantime, please try the following:
- Check OneNote on the web by signing in with the same Microsoft account and opening the affected notebook. This will help confirm what is currently stored in the cloud.
- In OneNote on the web or the desktop app, open the notebook and check View > Deleted Notes or History > Notebook Recycle Bin, depending on the version you are using. If the page appears there, right-click it and select Move or Copy to restore it.
- Use OneNote’s search and set the search scope to All Notebooks, then search for a distinctive word or phrase from the missing page. It may have been moved to another section or notebook rather than permanently deleted.
- On the laptop, check for Misplaced Sections at the bottom of the notebook list, as unsynced content can sometimes appear there after a sync problem.
- If you use the desktop version of OneNote and backups were previously enabled, go to File > Info > Open Backups and check whether an earlier copy of the page is available.
If the page is still visible anywhere on the laptop, avoid making further changes to it for now and copy its contents into a new page or document before reconnecting or syncing again. If the page cannot be found in OneNote on the web, Deleted Notes, search results, Misplaced Sections or a local backup and the restored copy had not finished syncing before the change was made on the iPad, there may unfortunately be no cloud copy available to restore. OneNote can generally recover only content that reached the notebook’s cloud storage, recycle bin, or an existing local backup. Thank you so much for your understanding.
