Microsoft Defender extension is not auto-installing on my VM

Microsoft Defender extension is not auto-installing on my VM. I have been deleting and recreating it a few times. My settings have auto-provisioning turned on. Also defender is still reporting some old upgrade recommendations, meanwhile those have been remediated already. I even tried deleting the VM, waiting over 24 hours and recreating it, but those old recommendations still show up.
It's also now showing the missing MDE as a recommendation to install but when I try to install, it's not showing the VM I want to install on, it's showing some other deleted VMs
